Choose the correct finance route
The SEM route uses school 051 and is Chinese-and-English bilingual; the SIGS route uses school 599 and is Chinese-taught. Both are listed under major 025100, direction 01. Confirm the complete selection rather than searching only for “Master of Finance.”
Create a separate row for each route in your shortlist. Include the school, campus information from the current programme pages, teaching language, application selection and any unresolved academic questions. Do not merge their requirements into a single checklist. A document or date found on one school’s page should be applied to the other only when the official notice explicitly covers both.

Plan around the right round
The verified notice gives December 15, 2026 and February 26, 2027 closing dates for the first two rounds and a further May 15, 2027 round for SIGS finance. The listed cutoff is 17:00 China Standard Time. Read the notice for opening dates and which window applies to your selection.
Work backward from the appropriate deadline. Put external dependencies first: recommendations, academic records and any required language evidence. Next schedule writing and translation, then a complete document check. The latest available round is not automatically the most practical one for you; evaluate how it fits other applications and your own preparation. Scholarship schedules may require a separate check.

Make your application internally consistent
Use a simple evidence table when preparing your statement. For each claim about an interest or skill, identify a project, class, internship or other example that supports it.
