Tsinghua English-taught undergraduate programmes: 2027

Politics, Economics and Sociology: define your academic question

The Zhishan College route is named Politics, Economics and Sociology for Global Leaders in Smart Society. Its 2027 guide appears in Tsinghua's English-taught programme section. The verified notice requires English proficiency and describes document screening followed by comprehensive assessment.

As an initial fit exercise, identify a social question you want to understand and ask how political, economic and sociological perspectives would change your explanation. Then investigate the curriculum in the official programme material. The purpose is to test your interest in sustained interdisciplinary work, rather than to choose a programme from its title alone.

Global Talents in Science and Engineering: test the breadth you want

Zijing College's Global Talents in Science and Engineering is another verified 2027 English-taught route. Applicants should open that specific guide instead of importing the requirements of a different engineering division.

Before deciding, list the scientific or engineering problems that interest you and the mathematical or experimental work you most enjoy. Compare those interests with the programme's published curriculum and progression structure. If you already have a very specific intended discipline, check how and when specialization works; the research behind this page does not establish that detail.

Urban Regeneration and Design: investigate the actual course of study

Zijing College also publishes a separate 2027 guide for Urban Regeneration and Design. It is included among the university's English-taught undergraduate programmes.

A useful first research question is which aspects of cities interest you: spatial design, existing buildings, environmental performance or how places change. Use that question to examine the official curriculum and degree award. Do not assume that similarly named design, architecture and urban studies degrees have identical professional outcomes or qualification requirements.

Plan dates and costs programme by programme

All three checked guides publish two application windows: 30 September–20 November 2026 and 21 November 2026–28 February 2027. Each window opens at 08:00 and closes at 17:00 Beijing time on its respective dates.

Each notice lists tuition of RMB 100,000 per year, an RMB 800 one-time application fee and RMB 800 annual medical insurance. These figures belong to these named routes. They are not a universal Tsinghua undergraduate price, and they do not form a complete living-cost budget.

Build a comparison you can use

Put the three programmes side by side and leave unknown fields blank. Your next reading should resolve those blanks, particularly the exact degree award, curriculum, programme duration and any progression choices. A partial but accurate comparison is more useful than filling gaps with assumptions.

Once the academic choice is clearer, organize the documents required by the selected route. Prepare to explain why that course of study suits your interests. Any discussion of application support should start from your real academic preparation and unresolved questions.

• Compare academic focus before comparing names.
• Confirm teaching and assessment language in the official material.
• Separate tuition from housing and other living costs.
• Check the current guide again before submission.
